Слаймоводы

Слаймоводами (slime ranchers) называют тех людей с Земли, что были отправлены мегакорпорацией 7Zee пасти слаймов на планету, чьё условное название Далёкое-Далёкое Угодье. Одним из таких слаймоводов и является игрок, выступающий в роли девушки по имени Beatrix LeBeau. Она заселяется на заброшенное ранчо, принадлежавшее ранее чудаковатому слаймоводу Hobson Twillgers, и с помощью своего главного инструмента — вакпака — и небольшого справочника — слаймопедии — приступает к своим обязанностям.

Слаймы

Слаймы (slime) — это желеобразные существа, которые заполняют планету Далёкое-Далёкое Угодье. Они эмоциональны, подвижны и зачастую голодны. Питаясь, слайм производит плорт — ценный ресурс, необходимый мегакорпорации 7Zee для изготовления целого ряда полезных предметов на Земле и не только.

Существует огромное многообразие слаймов. Они разнятся по форме, размерам, цвету, привычкам и даже предпочтениям в пище. Питаясь чужим плортом, маленькие представители способны заимствовать друг у друга свойства и превращаться в ларго — более прибыльных и крупных слаймов. Таким образом можно создать самому или встретить около сотни различных комбинаций слаймов. Но если скормить плорт ларго, то он превратится в крайне опасного варра, что может негативно сказаться на здоровье всех живых организмов поблизости.

Отдельно стоит отметить гордо — вид слаймов, отличающийся крупными размерами и неподвижностью. При приближении хозяина ранчо они раскрывают рот и ждут, когда вы их накормите. Им требуется гораздо больше пищи, но в результате вы получите то, что продвинет ваши исследования.

Ведение хозяйства

Игроку приходится заботиться о слаймах, ведь для многих видов обычного загона недостаточно. К примеру, некоторые могут погибнуть без защиты от солнца или сбежать, а другие обитают только в специальных прудах и питаются водой. Игроку также необходимо регулярно сажать и собирать урожай на огородах, изучать местность и буквально обыскивать каждый ящик в поисках новых слаймов и ресурсов, продавать плорт, покупать и создавать устройства, находить и получать доступ к сети телепортов.

Плортономика

Слайм производит плорт, плорт обменивается в плорт-маркете на ньюбаксы, на ньюбаксы приобретаются улучшения оборудования и расширения территории ранчо, которые, в свою очередь, позволяют значительно упростить жизнь слаймовода, а значит, и собирать ещё больше плорта.

Чем больше плорта одного вида будет продано в плорт-маркете, тем меньше он будет стоить и тем больше будет оцениваться тот плорт, который поставлялся реже. Эта система мотивирует слаймовода заниматься разведением разных видов слаймов, чтобы продавать разный плорт и получать больше прибыли.

Это основная экономическая механика игры и та деятельность, которой игрок будет заниматься на регулярной основе.

Локации

Территория планеты в кругу обитания главной героини состоит из нескольких крупных островов. Каждый крупный остров содержит индивидуальные, производимые только на нём ресурсы и слаймов, а также легко отличим визуально благодаря индивидуальному климату и дизайну ландшафта. Доступ к отдельным небольшим зонам и всем крупным локациям преграждают слаймовые врата, для открытия которых необходимо разыскать слаймовые ключи.

Не бойтесь, что сперва можете запутаться, бродя по миру, — зоны устроены таким образом, что рано или поздно вы найдёте путь обратно. Только блуждая, вы сможете изучить всё досконально и, возможно, найти то, что ещё никто до вас не находил. В игре также доступна карта (клавиша M), которая поможет тем, кто совсем плохо ориентируется на местности.

Заключительной локацией в игре считается Стеклянная Пустыня. Чтобы попасть в неё, необходимо побывать во всех предшествующих ей локациях.

Нокаут

Нокаут — состояние Beatrix, при котором она не может продолжать игру и переносится обратно в свой дом на ранчо лишаясь всего содержимого в вак-отсеках. Нокаут может наступить из-за попадания в Слаймовое море, при полной потере здоровья или благодаря использованию экстренного возврата. Чтобы восстановить силы потребуется не менее 12 часов, которые автоматически перематываются до 6 утра следующего дня.

Задачи для продвинутых

Для тех, кто уже научился управлять хаосом, который приносят с собой слаймы, существует слаймонаука — инструментарий, который открывает перед хозяином ранчо Лаборатория. Это расширение для ранчо позволяет сооружать полезные гаджеты, такие как личный телепорт, украшения для территории и даже мини-игры.

С помощью премиального клуба 7Zee можно получить доступ к кастомизации основных цветов оборудования и построек, а также улучшить декоративные элементы ранчо.

Для самых внимательных хозяев ранчо существует огромное множество разбросанных по всем локациям ящиков и капсул с чертежами самых разных гаджетов и ресурсами слаймонауки. Собрать их все самостоятельно — настоящий вызов любопытству, но чтобы получить все три вида взломщиков, необходимых для открытия капсул, придётся построить не один десяток гаджетов.

Цель игры

Основная идея игры заключается в исследовании планеты и содержании слаймов. Однако в «Slime Rancher» нет каких-либо конкретно обозначенных целей игры, как это обычно происходит во многих других играх жанра «песочница». Игра не подталкивает насильно к каким-либо действиям, поэтому игрок сам для себя определяет, как он хочет развлекаться, какие получать достижения и какие вызовы перед собой ставить.

В режиме приключений можно закончить основную сюжетную линию игры. Её конец наступает после того, как Beatrix прочтёт финальные записи Hobson в Стеклянной Пустыне, а также получит и прочтёт последнее письмо от Casey. Сразу после этого запустятся титры игры, а после них придёт ещё одно письмо от Hobson, после чего можно будет отправиться на поиски тайников. После этого хозяин ранчо может продолжать заниматься своими делами, пока ему это не надоест.

Лучше всего цель игры читается в режиме игры «5-дневный натиск», где Beatrix предстоит собрать как можно больше ньюбаксов всего за 5 дней. Это режим-испытание, подогревающий соревновательный интерес.

О: Нельзя, можно только приносить из других локаций.

В: Что будет, если слаймов слишком долго не кормить?
О: Ничего. Просто слаймы проголодаются (изменится рожица) и будут стремиться выбраться из загона, а при кормлении сможет за 1 присест съесть больше пищи.

В: Возможно ли содержание в загоне или образование ларго из золотого слайма\слайма удачи?
О: Нет, они редко появляются в различных точках карты и быстро исчезают, им можно только успеть кинуть что-нибудь съестное, чтобы получить золотой плорт\ньюбаксы (сам золотой плорт можно только продать или использовать в слаймонауке, разведение невозможно).

Slime Rancher holds a host of different things for player to do and secrets to find. This guide shows beginners how to get started in the game.

In an industry completely filled with fast-paced multiplayer shooters, rage-inducing Soulslikes, and heart-thumping survival games, it is sometimes very nice to take a step back and relax with a more stress-free kind of game. This is exactly the kind of experience that Slime Rancher provides its players. The whole point is to travel throughout a colorful and diverse world while collecting different adorable slimes to raise back on the ranch.

Now this isn’t all to say that there isn’t challenge and danger involved with the game. Players will have to fend off several kinds of hostile slimes on their journey and will need to learn how many different mechanics operate if they want to keep their ranch growing and earning them money. This guide is here to show beginners how to get started on the game and how to make their ranch as profitable as possible.

Slime Rancher — Tips and Tricks for Beginners

Collect Pink, Rock, and Tabby Plorts ASAP — Right at the beginning of the game the player will be completely broke, yet have access to a fairly large ranch. To get started they will need to start earning some money in order to begin building up the ranch and acquire upgrades. If they head straight ahead from there house they will come across some of the most basic forms of slimes: Pink, Rock, and Tabby. Players should begin by collecting all of their plorts that they can before taking them back home to sell them. This is a quick way to earn some money pretty fast early on in the game, especially Tabby plorts which can sell for a decent amount of money.

Start With Two Corrals and Two Gardens — Once the player has enough money to do so they should build two corrals and two gardens on their ranch. In one of the corrals they should put some Pink Slimes and the other they should fill with Rock Slimes. The player should then plant carrots in both of the gardens. This will give the player a very steady course of income as they will be able to keep these Slimes fed easily and be able to harvest their plorts whenever they wish without having to go searching for them. Its probably not a good idea to keep Tabby Slimes on the ranch until the player has a reliable source of chickens and the income to build a higher corral to prevent escapes.

Corral Upgrades Are Very Helpful — Once the player has some extra money they will want to start investing in some upgrades for their corrals. A good idea is to first build higher walls and an air net on top in order to fit more Slimes inside without risking them escaping. Additionally, the player will want to eventually invest in the auto feeder and plort collector for a corral. These upgrades will make the player’s life infinitely easier as they won’t have to manually feed or collect plorts from their slimes. Instead, they just need to fill up the feeder and then suck up any of the plorts that the collector acquires over time. This also gives the player more time to explore the world at their own leisure.

Expand to The Grotto and Overgrowth When Possible — As the player acquires more slimes and builds more plots, they will quickly run out of space to build things. That is why they should try to expand their ranch into The Grotto and the Overgrowth whenever they have the chance. Both of these locations are ideal for building new enclosures, but can also be incredibly useful for letting certain slime types roam free. The Grotto in particular is perfect for housing Phosphor Slimes since they require dark spaces, and they won’t leave this area. The Overgrowth however is great for meat-eaters like Tabby’s since it is very close to areas with a lot of chickens.

Switch Up Your Selling Habits — The market in Slime Rancher can actually be very finicky. The more plorts of the same type that a player sells then the more that the price of the plort will actually drop. The trick to avoiding this is to save up a lot of one type of plort and then sell it all at once. Once the price drops the player will then want to switch to selling another plort type and then wait for the market value to reset before selling the first type. The market resets every single day, so players will need to wait a full day to check the prices.

Invest In Character Upgrades Before Exploring Further Away — The player will eventually start unlocking other areas of the map that are further and further away from their ranch, but these areas are also much more dangerous to explore. Before traveling too far away the player will want to invest in some upgrades for their character. There are upgrades that will grant them more inventory space, more health, more stamina, as well as the ability to launch water or use a sonic blast to push slimes away. Pick up a few upgrades before traveling too much.

Don’t Expand Too Much Before Getting The Lab — Another thing to keep in mind when expanding the ranch is that the more slimes that the player owns then the more time they will need to put into taking care of them. If the player expands too far then they will quickly become overwhelmed by the amount of work they have to do to keep their slimes happy. To combat this the player can unlock The Lab, which in turn allows them to create many different kinds of devices that can help make their job infinitely easier. Those who want to own every type of Slime will want to first invest in some upgrades at The Lab.

Completing Tasks For Ranchers Provides Special Rewards — While completing different tasks for ranchers is a good way to earn money and resources, players can also earn many kinds of different special rewards this way as well. There are three unique areas of the world that can only be accessed by completing missions for the Mochi, Ogden, and Viktor. In turn, these areas will allow the player to gain access to special Slimes, complete different missions for these ranchers, and even eventually acquire new expansions for their ranch that can’t be acquired any other way.

Certain Slime Combinations Are Better Than Others — The biggest thing to keep in mind when playing Slime Rancher has to be that just because a combination of slimes looks cool, doesn’t mean that it is a good thing to keep on the ranch. Largo Slimes are much bigger than normal slimes, so they are difficult to keep inside of corrals. This means that players either need to let them free roam, or keep less of them inside of a corral. In other words players will want to ensure that any Largos they create are not dangerous yet very profitable. This means avoiding combinations like Rad/Boom and Crystal/Hunter is a very good idea. Try to combine dangerous slimes with more docile ones in order to make them easier to work with.

Explore Thoroughly — Once the player really starts exploring the world they will come across dozens of different secrets and hidden areas that are off the beaten path. Players who want to progress further into the game will want to search every nook and cranny that they come across in order to track down everything that Slime Rancher has to offer.

So you think you can be a Slime Rancher, eh? Well, The Far, Far Range can be unforgiving to players who are unfamiliar with its wiggly inhabitants.

To help you get your hands dirty on The Ranch, we put together some helpful hints. Whether you want to amass a large income or explore new locations, we’ll give you the low-down here in this handy quick start guide.

Humble Beginnings

Your first interaction with Slime Rancher will be with your very own Ranch. You’ll notice that you’ll have 8 plots to work with. To get off to a quick start, you’ll want to invest in some Corrals and Gardens. In order to afford these luxuries, you’ll need to start collecting Plorts.

Plorts can be found as soon as you venture out into The Dry Reef. Technically, Plorts are excrement of Slimes. Once a Slime eats a piece of food, they’ll pop out a Plort.

Pink Slimes will no doubt be the most common species you’ll encounter. They will also eat any type of food. If you cant find enough Plorts laying around, pick up some nearby food to feed a hungry group of Pink Slimes. Spend your first trip to the Dry Reef only collecting Plorts that are dropped by Slimes.

Once your Vacpack is full of Plorts, cash them all in at the Plort Market. Use the money you make from the first couple runs in The Dry Reef to buy a few Corrals.

Start Corralin’

Now that you have a couple of Corrals setup, head back out to The Dry Reef to start sucking up some Pink and Rock Slimes.

The reason we chose Rock Slimes over other common Slimes, is because they have a more accommodating diet to cater to and their Plorts yield high economic returns. You’ll want to be careful when collecting Rock Slimes, as their spiky exteriors can damage you.

Once your Vacpack is full of these two types of Slimes, head back to The Ranch and toss ’em in their Corrals. It is very important that you do NOT ever mix more than two types of Slimes together, as it will result in some unpleasant offspring (The Tarr).

In order for your newly domesticated Slimes to produce fresh Plorts, you’ll need to feed them.

The great thing about Pink Slimes is their diverse diet. They will eat literally anything! Find any edibles out in The Dry Reef to bring back to them.

Rock Slimes however, are a bit more picky. These dangerous critters are strict vegetarians, with a particular favorite in Heart Beets.

After collecting a fair amount of food for our hungry Slimes, you’ll want to cash in on those fresh Plorts that they graciously left for you to collect in their pen.

Green Thumb

Now that you have a wad of fresh, steamy Plorts in your pockets after feeding your Slimes — you’ll want to reinvest it.

Having to forage for food to keep our Slimes healthy and productive can be time consuming and repetitive. In order to save some time and money, we’ll want to start growing crops in Gardens that can be harvested to feed our Slimes. Ideally, we’ll want to start a 2-3 vegetable crops to feed our Slimes.

While you wait for the food to grow, continue to collect Plorts and think about potentially upgrading the walls of your current Corrals to increase the capacity of Slimes.

Fancy Farming

By now, our Ranch is starting to look pretty good! If we want to make our lives a bit easier, we can take all that hard earned cash we’ve earned to make farming a bit more streamlined.

Some Corral upgrades can be nifty as we can purchase an auto-feeder and Plort collector. These two upgrades can help alleviate some of the more tedious tasks involved with the game. You can insert food items into a vacuum that will dispense it when appropriate to inhabitants. The Plort collector can be especially useful when dealing with hostile or dangerous Slimes. Rock Slimes can injure you easily, and instead of having to enter their corral to collect Plorts, you can vacuum them safely from outside.

If you’re having issues creating enough food for your hungry Slimes, upgrading your Garden plots would be wise. Two options will increase yields and speed of your crops — helping you feed your hungry horde of Slimes faster.

Expand or Explore

Congratulations on your bustling ranch! By now you should have most of your 8 plots utilized in some capacity and a steady flow of income. Since you’ve run out of room on your ranch, you may start thinking, “whats next?”

There are a couple options at this fork in the road — keep expanding your ranch or start exploring other regions. Depending on how you’re feeling, either is a fine choice. Though, exploring new regions will definitely speed up your progress in the game.

If you wish to start unlocking new territories, you’ll need to find Gordo Slimes. These obese versions of regular slimes can be found in various places and will require 25 food items before it gives you what you desire — a Slime Key. You’ll need this key to open new territories.

If more farm space is your concern, there are some affordable options to expand to. The Grotto is the cheapest option that will grant you an additional 5 plots to perhaps further sustain your Ranch.

Regardless of what you decide, there isn’t really a wrong decision!

If you’ve just opened Slime Rancher, where do you start? This guide will give you the basics.

Slime Rancher is a farm simulation game with a very relaxed pace. You will explore the local area and collect different slimes, which you’ll then raise, feed, and care for on your ranch. Once fed, the slimes produce plorts, which can be sold for Newbucks, the game’s currency.

Over time you’ll expand and upgrade your ranch, allowing you to locate, capture and care for more unique slimes. These will in turn reward you with higher value plorts, speeding up your ranch upgrades. Before we get to that stage it’s a good idea to make sure you understand the basics of owning your very own Slime Ranch.

Finding Your First Slime: Capturing And Relocating Slimes

When you begin, you’ll have one corral in which to place slimes. The easiest ones to collect are pink slimes, which you’ll see around your ranch. The game’s tutorial will guide you through collecting the slimes and placing them in your corral by using your Vacpack. It will also show you how to collect and sell their plorts. This process is the foundation of the game.

Each slime has a different diet, which you can check in the slimepedia, but pink slimes will eat anything. This means that they are one of the easiest slimes to care for. Begin to explore the area around your ranch and you’ll find pogofruit, carrots, and chickens. Any of these can be fed to your pink slimes, by firing them into the corral.

Once you’ve got the hang of finding and relocating both slimes and food it’s time to take a look at how to care for your slimes.

Creating A Farm: Different Plot Buildings In Slime Rancher

You must keep your slimes fed regularly, so you’ll need a steady supply of food. You can continue to forage from the surrounding area but it does take time for food to grow which limits supplies. Once you start capturing more exotic slimes you’ll also soon discover that many of their favorite foods aren’t available within easy reach of the ranch.

The easiest way to produce a reliable supply of any type of food is to purchase a farm and coop.

At this point you will have noticed that the corral is on one of several square plots marked out on your ranch. When you click the small post which activates a plot on the ranch, you’ll notice that you can choose the type of area you want it to be. The options are as follows:

• Corral — Used to house slimes on the ranch
• Garden — Used to grow fruit and vegetables
• Coop — Used to house and breed hens
• Pond — Used to house water-based slimes
• Silo — Used to store resources
• Incinerator — Used to destroy unwanted items

We suggest adding a coop and farm to the two plots beside your house. This means you have a small regular supply of meat and either fruit or vegetables

The farm is simple to use. All you need to do is collect a vegetable or fruit and fire it into the post on the corner of the plot. Once this is done the plot will begin to grow the selected item. Carrots or cuberries are the easiest to find as both of these are close to the ranch. Fruit or vegetables will begin to grow again once the field has been emptied.

The coop just requires some hens and a rooster to breed. Again, you can collect these, but this time fire them directly into the coop. If you can’t find a rooster, don’t worry. There are baby chickens around the area, simply put them in with a couple of hens and some of them will grow into roosters. Extra chickens can be sucked up and fired into a corral, but remember to leave at least one rooster and a few hens to breed.

Tip: It’s quicker and easier to collect fruit or veg rather than hens so if your slimes will eat either then feeding them a vegetarian diet will save you some time.

Extra Slimes And Largos: Combining Slimes For Greater Profits

Pink slimes have very low-value plorts, so it’s a good idea to collect different slimes from the surrounding area. You’ll find rock slimes, which are blue and spiky, and tabby slimes, which look like kittens, close by. Both of these will give you reasonably high-value plorts. However, both slimes are trickier to manage.

Rock slimes can hurt you and tabby slimes only eat meat. While you can just feed tabbys with hens from your coop if you can’t keep up with demand there is another option, creating largo slimes.

How To Create Largo Slimes

If a pure slime (such as the pink slime) eats the plort of another slime (like the tabby and rock slimes) it will become a Largo, or large slime, taking on some of the characteristics of the slime whose plort it ate. This can include the diet of the other slime, meaning combining pink slimes with others can make them easier to feed. Largos will then give you two plorts, one of each type of slime they are made up of.

Having two or three corrals of either different slimes or Largos gives you a good starting supply of plorts, but you need to ensure you can keep them separate.

IMPORTANT: Do not put different Largos togetherIf a Largo eats a third type of plort, they will turn into a Tarr, which is a hostile slime that will consume other slimes and replicate. If you do get a Tarr in your ranch, you’ll need to find some water to dispatch it, quickly.

Safety First: Your First Farm Upgrades

Once you have the basics down you’ll need to start looking at upgrades to ensure the happiness and safety of your slimes. The higher wall corral upgrade is a must early in the game, especially once you have more than one type of slime on your ranch. This is because escaped slimes can cause huge issues including creating tarrs and eating your crops or chickens. Likewise, slimes going into different corrals can also create tarrs.

The auto-feeder is another helpful upgrade. Just keep it well-stocked with supplies from your farm and coop, and it will send a plentiful supply of food to your slimes. This means that not only do they stay happy but they’ll also produce a steady supply of plorts for you.

The final early upgrade we recommend is the plort collector. This saves you from having to venture inside the corrals to collect plorts. It’s especially helpful if you have rock slimes, as their spikes reduce your health if they bump into you.

Once you’ve got these basics down, you’re ready to explore further afield and see what else the Far Far Range has to offer.
