GSM. The Falcon Hybrid has a universal Contact ID interface to alarm panels as well as a serial interface to some leading panels. It also has seven dry contact input triggers which can be programmed to send alarms.

If the button is held down for more than 10 seconds, the Ÿ Falcon Hybrid will send an auto-test message on radio (to test the VHF range). This is can be used to test the VHF link back to the control room. -

3.1.1 Power Supply The Falcon Hybrid must be connected to a stable 12V DC (nominal 13.2V) power supply because the Falcon Hybrid draws large currents (greater than 2A) from the power supply when it transmits, it must be powered directly from the battery in the alarm panel.

Page 10: Dry Contact Inputs
If the CAC line is not connected, the Falcon Hybrid should not be programmed to send AC Failure or Restoral Signals. The AC Failure and AC Restore signals have a programmable delay (default set at 1 minute) in order to prevent false triggers.

3.1.7 Relay Outputs Two dry-contact relay outputs are available on the Falcon Hybrid. These outputs can be commanded to turn on and off via the GSM network. The outputs are rated at 24V AC or DC, up to a maximum of 5A.

Page 12: Falcon Hybrid Installation
The performance of the Falcon Hybrid depends on the quality of its connection to the GSM network. The Falcon Hybrid will send alarms quicker and more reliably if it has a strong connection to the GSM service provider. When the Falcon Hybrid has powered up, it will start connecting to the network, displaying its status as it initialises and connects (see section 3.5 — Indicators and Controls).

3.4 Changing the Default SIM Card (Applicable to dual SIM Falcon Hybrids only) The Falcon Hybrid has the option of changing the default SIM card to be used. The default SIM card should be changed to the one with the highest signal strength.

APPENDIX A SERIAL INTERFACE The Falcon Hybrid uses a standard interface cable (with interchangeable ends) along with an adapter to connect to various alarm panels except for the DSC PowerSeries and the IDS805 panels which use a key-bus module and the Orisec panel which has its own serial cable whose ends are NOT interchangeable.

APPENDIX B PROGRAMMING CABLE AND SOFTWARE The Falcon Hybrid is programmed using the FSK USB Programming Cable and FSK DVD kit which contains the programming software (FSK Item Code 40027).
