Porsche Macan background information

Porsche Macan is a compact SUV created by Porsche on the Audi Q5 platform, which was introduced in November 2013. Sales will begin in April 2014.

The car was originally supposed to be called Cajun, but on February 16, 2012, Porsche announced the final name for the car – “Macan”.

Macan name comes from the Indonesian word, which means tiger.

Macan is produced next to Panamera and Cayenne in Leipzig, Germany at a new expanded factory.

The engine range includes a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo with 340 horsepower (Macan S), 460 Nm of torque, a 3.6-liter V6 twin-turbo (Macan Turbo) with 400 horsepower, 550 Nm of torque, and also a 3.0-liter diesel V6 with 258 hp and 580 Nm of torque. Transmissions can be seven-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch PDK.

Each 2016 Porsche Macan is equipped with: a 6-cylinder engine, a 7-speed PDK automatic transmission, 19-inch aluminum wheels, dual exhaust pipes and three-zone climate control. Bi-xenon headlights create lighting that is not inferior in quality to daylight. The multifunctional steering wheel with rudder petals provides excellent control of the car. Macan S is equipped as standard with an 8-position electric seat with Alcantara trim. The list of basic equipment Macan Turbo includes: 18-position leather sports seats, Bose audio system with 14 speakers, decorative aluminum inserts and precision control system Porsche Active Suspension Management.

In the stowed position, the trunk volume is 500 liters, with a convenient mesh and a movable wall-lock. If you fold the backs of the second row, you get a large flat area, and the volume increases to 1500 liters.
