If Evinrude/Johnson XD25 formula outboard oil is not available, you must use an NMMA-certified TC- W3 oil such as Evinrude/Johnson direct injection oil or Evinrude biodegradable outboard oil. ENGINE STARTING Open the fuel shut-off by turning the valve knob so its handle is vertical. MOTOR ANGLE ADJUSTMENT Tighten the wing nut and replace the thread sleeve. The engine should be perpendicular to the water when the boat is underway at full speed. This ad- justment can only be determined by water testing the boat. Set angle adjustment for your normal load.

ENGINE OVERHEATING IMPORTANT: Do not run your engine — even for a brief start-up — without supplying water to it. Refer to Flushing. While boating, the engine’s water intakes must stay completely submerged and unobstructed. Observe proper transom height and trim angle. While the en- gine is running, the engine’s water pump indicator must discharge a steady stream of water.

TRAILERING WARNING Keep everyone clear of stern area when raising or lowering the outboard. Personal injury or death can result from contact with moving parts of the outboard. INSTALLATION Use this procedure to determine whether or not the boat’s transom height is correct for the engine’s shaft length: WARNING Lift the engine using the lift grips (NOT the tilt grip or steering handle) and place it in the center of the boat’s transom.

Since the founding of the company Joseph-Armand Bombardier in 1942, the name BRP has become synonymous with quality and innovation. BRP offers the most modern,

The history of the creation of Johnson motors — this, one can say, is the history of outboard engines in general. The youth of the beginning of the century simply
“hurt” universal motorization, and the Johnson brothers from the American state of Indiana were no exception. Their first outboard appeared in 1908. Having gained credibility with the production
of stationary power plants for boats, boats and airplanes, in 1921 they literally blew up the American market, launching the SERIAL release of a new outboard 2-horsepower engine. It was made with
the extensive use of aluminum alloys and ensured smooth operation at 2300 rpm. To evaluate this achievement, it is necessary to take into account that the generally accepted standard at that time
were motors made of cast iron and bronze, which developed no more than 900 rev / min. Their work was accompanied by strong noise and vibration.
The simplicity and effectiveness of the technical solutions used on the serial «Johns» was so obvious that the competitors had no choice but to adopt its innovations. But catching up with the
leader was no longer so easy. In 1925, the boat with the engine Johnson «Big twin» with a capacity of 6 hp set a new world speed record — 23.32 knots (the previous record was only 11 knots), and
by the time of the launch of the series in 1926, the bar was raised to an even greater height — 32.14 knots. Three years later, a new model appeared — “Sea Horse” with so many revolutionary
technical solutions (for example, a choke to facilitate launch, exhaust through a screw, a rotary valve), that many of them are still used today, and not only on boats. motors. In 1929, 13 world

Rapidly developing, the production of outboard motors has evolved from a small family-owned company into a global high-tech industry. In September 1936, an important event in the history of
engine building took place: the Johnson Brothers’ company merged with the company of Evinrud, creating an unrivaled empire.
The corporation was called OMS (Outboard Marine Corporation) and marked the beginning of a new era of engineering with its appearance. The entire history of OMS is marked by a number of
innovations: enrichment of the mixture to facilitate cold engine starting, automatic reduction in revs when overheating, electric engine starting, switching forward-neutral-reverse, remote
control — and this list can be continued for a very long time.
Now Outboard Marine Corporation and the Johnson brand work under the command of BRP.
