    Chapter 1 Getting Started In stores where counter space is at a premium, the Magellan 800i Omni- Directional Imaging Scanner maintains an agressive scan zone that is necessar- ily tight against the scanner’s face. Scanning methods include a mixture of sweep and presentation styles, offering hands-free scanning for small, easily handled items and handheld scanning for bulkier objects.

    LED and Beeper Indicators The scanner’s beeper sounds and its green LED illuminates to indicate various functions or errors on the scanner. The tables below list these indications. One exception to the behaviors listed in the tables is that the scanner’s functions are programmable, and may or may not be turned on.

    Enter/Exit Programming Mode Image Capture Image capture requires that the scanner use the Standard RS- 232 or USB COM interface ONLY. The scanner reverts to normal reading mode after image capture NOTE and transfer. How to Capture an Image By default, images are captured as 640 x 480 (VGA) format with a minimum compression ratio, and are displayed via the host application software.

    Chapter 1 Getting Started In stores where counter space is at a premium, the Magellan 800i Omni-Directional Imaging Scanner maintains an agressive scan zone that is necessarily tight against the scanner’s face. Scan- ning methods include a mixture of sweep and presentation styles, offering hands-free scanning for small, easily handled items and handheld scanning for bulkier objects.

The scanner reverts to normal reading mode after image capture and transfer. Настройка сканера Magellan 800i в COM режиме

Новый сканер необходимо подготовить к работе. Для этого потребуется сбросить заводские параметры и установить пользовательские. Настройка выполняется путем считывания штрихкодов.

  1. Подключите сканер к компьютеру при помощи USB-кабеля. Оборудование определится системой автоматически: вы услышите звуковой сигнал.
  2. Сбросьте настройки до заводских значений.

  3. Войдите в режим настройки сканера.

  4. Отключите передачу меток типов штрихкодов.

  5. Переведите сканер в режим эмуляции COM-порта.

  6. Выйдите из режима настройки сканера.

  7. Отключите сканер и подключите снова. Откройте диспетчер устройств и убедитесь, что в списке подключенного оборудования появилось устройство с COM-портом.
