    HTTPS, IP address filtering and multiple user levels with passwords. The AXIS 240Q has a built-in web server, providing full access to all features through the use of a standard browser. The built-in scripting tool allows the creation of basic applications, providing basic surveillance solutions.

    AXIS 240Q — Using the video server Using the video server The AXIS 240Q can be used with most standard operating systems and web browsers. The recommended browser is Internet Explorer with Windows, and Mozilla with other operating systems. See also the Technical specifications, on page 67.

    •To view streaming video in Microsoft Internet Explorer, you must set your web browser to allow the AXIS Media Control (AMC) to be installed on your computer. AMC is required to use audio in the AXIS 241SA, AXIS 241QA and AXIS 243SA. AMC also provides an MPEG-4 decoder for viewing MPEG-4 video streams.

Video Streams The Live View page in the AXIS 240Q provides access to Motion JPEG video streams, as well as to single JPEG images. Other applications and clients can also access these video streams/images directly, without going via the Live View page.

    Video and images from the AXIS 240Q can also be accessed in the following ways: • If supported by the client, the AXIS 240Q can use Motion JPEG server push to display video. This option maintains an open HTTP connection to the browser and sends data as and when required, for as long as required.

    The one used in the Axis implementation is EAP-TLS (EAP-Transport Layer Security). The AXIS network video device presents its certificate to the network switch, which in turn forwards this to the RADIUS server. The RADIUS server validates or rejects the certificate and responds to the switch, and sends its own certificate to the client for validation.
